TV FOR DUMMIES. PERFORMANCE FOR 100 REMOTE CONTROLS
National Theatre, Iași [2011]

TV FOR DUMMIES examines the trajectory of a story – the vanishing of an 8 year old kid – both in its’ immediate surroundings and in the media and the ways these two layers reciprocally alter each-other. The integration of 7 screens inside the domestic spaces of a building – inside the fridge, in the oven, inside a TV – and the video playback of the immediate/mediated events produces a constant inquisition on what reality means nowadays.

The audience, armed with remote controls, believes until the last moment that they have directed their own porno-violent show. Each performance ends the same: a naked woman is brought on stage suffocating inside a garbage bag. Sometimes an audience members jumps to tear the bag for air. Other times, everyone stares.
