DO YOU SEE THAT PLANE?
I am spending two months in Budapest at the Open Society Archives, researching the phenomenon of plane hijackings during the 70s with the 1971 Romanian plane hijacking as a pivotal case study. This research is part of a project in development for the National Theatre in Bucharest, with plans for a future production.

I have long been fascinated by plane hijackings and feel a deep urge to understand the human motivations behind such acts—what drives individuals to take this extreme course of action? At the same time, I am intrigued by how the West applied different standards when portraying political hijackings carried out by resistance groups, shaping narratives based on ideological and geopolitical agendas.

BLONDI
I directed Blondi, a short film set in a decadent and morally ambiguous Bucharest hair salon in ’86. The story follows a teenage girl’s entanglement with the Romanian Securitate. Produced by Numa Film and me, with Andreea Oprițescu as executive producer, the film stars Ioana Flora, Bianca Temneanu, Silvana Mihai, and Cezar Grumăzescu, with Boróka Bíró as director of photography. I have been in the editing phase for what feels like an eternity, and it looks like the journey may be far from over.
